Using songs to power up your copywriting
You can pick up some powerful copywriting ideas from the songs you listen to.
Opening lines for example.
Songs with good lyrics often have GREAT opening lines.
Like Bruce Springsteen's "Hungry Heart"...
"Got a wife and kids in Fortmour Jack. I went out for a ride and I never went back..."
If you opened your copy with a line like that you'd drag your reader straight into your copy - just as this opening line drags the listener straight into the song.
Or Billy Joel's song "Allentown"...
"I'm living here in Allentown and they're closing all the factories down. Out in Bethlehem they're killing time filling out forms and standing in line."
Paints a picture that's gonna get to people who are out of work or are afraid they're going to lose their jobs.
You can also experiment with listening to music that touches you emotionally just before you write copy and see if that makes your writing more emotionally packed.
There's another secret that's similar and VERY powerful but I'll save it for another time.
