I had a question this week from a young man getting his feet wet online - building his expertise in a niche and looking to create and sell his first information product.
He asked me for any advice I might give him on making more money and getting free traffic without spending money.
My answer was just two words...
Joint Ventures.
Find a website that's in your niche or a related niche that already has a big list.
Make contact with them and develop a relationship.
Create a product that's non competitive but complementary to what they sell.
Have them mail their list and give them a very generous share of the turnover.
Repeat this process as many times as possible.
This is by far the easiest way to get highly targeted, profitable traffic to a sales page.
If you want to get more sophisticated you set up a butterfly marketing-type of site where you give a free product in exchange for membership then immediately upsell members before they get access to their free product.

Everyone who joins also becomes an affiliate to promote your site.
This is a very powerful technique and combined with joint ventures can give you ongoing traffic - first from the JV partner then from the people who sign up and send you traffic because they're affiliates.
This tactic is becoming VERY popular in the internet marketing niche but is barely used in other niches online.
