Video Marketing Online How To CRUSH A Business

The combination of video online and social, interactive networks like YouTube, MySpace, niche forums and blogs is dangerously powerful.

One forum post and one video led to such an overwhelming flood of bad publicity a large company was literally crushed under the weight.

Watch this 50 second video that dramatically displays how a Kryptonite bicycle lock can be opened in seconds with a cheap bic pen...



The company making these locks has moved to change their design but only after losing a huge number of sales and an almost impeccable reputation.

In fact Kryptonite were so confident of their lock design they offered a $3,500 warranty in the event of theft.

Apparently the locks are resistant to bolt cutters, saws, hammers and chisels.

Just not cheap bic pens!


What can you discover from this about marketing with online video?

First if your prospect has a real problem that your product can fix dramatize the problem in your video FIRST.

Agitate their problem.

Then you can dramatize the solution to that problem...using your product...in the same video or a following video.

If it's at all possible talk about and display feelings.

1. I felt terrible when this was happening to me.

I bet you feel the same way too.


2. But then something amazing happened. After months of searching I found this product.


3. See how it worked for me. I know it will work the same for you.

I feel so relieved and happy now this product has solved my problem for me.


That's a very rough guideline for telling a story that sells.

You need to get far more specific.

But I'm sure you get the general idea.

The real trick is to "open the bike lock" on video.

Dramatize the problem...dramatize the solution so your prospect can SEE it right before his eager eyes.


If you're evil minded you could also use online video to point out the flaws in the products of your competitors but I would say that's probably NOT a great idea.

You can let your happy clients do that for you!
