Powerful Emotional Triggers

We all have powerful emotional triggers built from years of conditioning and these triggers can have an amazing effect on our behavior.

And especially watch what happens in the final store and think of the triggers that might be involved...



In this video you'll notice that every one of his "community announcements" is ignored except the last one.

No one stops playing the poker machines and goes home. No one stops shopping.

They ignore both these announcements despite the fact that both make perfect, logical sense and are actually recommending actions that will almost certainly benefit the people they're directed at.

But when this comedian asks for everyone to stand still, bow their heads and observe one minute's silence the compliance level is near 100%.

Why?



Nearly every year as a child at school you probably observed one minute's silence on memorial day.

You stood still, bowed your head and kept your mouth shut.

You quickly learn that speaking, acting jovial or doing pretty much anything except somberly observing that minute's silence is heavily frowned upon.

It's showing a lack of respect to "those who died for us" or "those who died on foreign soil to preserve our freedom."

So when we're asked in an official sounding way to bow our heads and observe a minute's silence there's a VERY high chance we'll do it.

Because not doing it makes us very uncomfortable...it's an emotional trigger.


In your sales copy and your marketing you can use emotional triggers in a similar way.

You can find where your prospects' hot buttons are and use them in an ethical way to make your prospects behave the way you want them to.

You can make your triggers as effective as asking for a minute's silence.
