Opening a sales email

How do you open a sales email so you get the maximum number of your subscribers to click through to your sales page or your order page.

There are a few simple principles.

1st: You need a compelling, very specific subject in your email.

Something that forces your prospect to open the email and look inside.

Keep in mind that...just like you...your prospects go through their inbox with their fingers poised over the DELETE key.

Let me give you an example of an email subject I wrote for a client that's hard to ignore...

Andrew, you're number 1 on Google...

Technically speaking the subject line was
[firstname], you're number 1 on Google.

The email was sent to prospects interested in Search Engine Optimization so this subject was a heart stopper for them.


2nd: In the opening paragraph of your email give your prospect a compelling reason to click through to your sales or order page and put a link straight under that paragraph.

Don't wait to send them to a link.

Keep in mind that your prospects...just like you...are trying to get the gist of an email as fast as possible to see if they should delete it or take further action.

That link after the first short (often one sentence) paragraph is often enough to get them to click through.


Again your first sentence has to be VERY specific, intriguing and give your prospect a very real reason to take action.

If you get the opening in your sales emails right you'll find your click through rate and your sales will soar.
